PCD-IS Table Talks - Deadline Extended

Thank you for your interest in presenting a table talk for the Patient-Centered Design Innovation Summit (PCD-IS).

In order to engage every attendee in interactive discussions, we will have no lecture style presentations.  We are looking for health facility designers to present case studies of their projects and new ideas during table talks at lunch time.  If your proposal is selected as a table talk, we will publish a description of your topic, and interested attendees would sit at your table to learn more.  Please complete the form below to tell us about your idea or case study.  If your project is selected, you will receive $100 discount off the current registration fee ($599), as well as the opportunity to provide a bag insert highlighting your table talk.

Guidelines: Table talks are intended to provide educational information in an interactive exchange of ideas. Topics should be new or existing examples of health facility design projects or new (conceptual only) ideas for the design of inventions or spaces.  This is not a marketing presentation, but an opportunity for health designers to learn from the work of their peers. Products currently available for sale are not eligible as table topics.
Participants should not share any confidential information during this event. The Institute reserves the right to document, publish or share design ideas or strategies that are discussed or developed during the events for the purpose of research, education and patient-centered design advocacy.
Discussions:  Your discussion should include a brief overview of the design challenge, along with your design solutions in the form of a case study or conceptual ideas.  While you may include your company logo on your handout, please refrain from repetitive use of your company name during the discussion.  Following your overview, please allow at least 20 minutes of active conversation time, in which you facilitate a discussion or take questions from your table.  The total talk should last no more than 45 minutes, which allows time for participants to get their food and find your table.

Materials: Table talk presenters may present a narrative or graphics of their table topics in any of the following forms:

  • Send 200 copies of a 1 page document (8 ½ x11” format) for inclusion in summit bags.
  • Bring up to five 11"x 17” boards (color prints mounted on board) to be shared with attendees at your table.
  • Submit a pdf copy of no more than 5 pages to be shared electronically with all attendees.
  • Bring a tabletop model.
