WELCOME TO THE 

INSTITUTE for PATIENT-CENTERED DESIGN, INC.


HOW WE STARTED

The Institute for Patient-Centered Design, Inc. was founded by Patients and Design Professionals with the purpose of giving patients a voice in the development of the healing environment. Health care providers, medical staff, and design teams collaborate to define the requirements of a health care facility. Although these are key individuals to develop a successful project, the end users - patients - are often excluded from this process. The Institute invites patients as an integral partner in the design process. 

GOALS 

The Institute strives to improve the environment of care by addressing the needs of patients through design. Our mission is to contribute to the quality of healthcare delivery through patient-centered design advocacy, education and research.
